FAQs
Will the treatments be paid for immediately afterwards?

Yes, treatments are paid by pin immediately afterwards. You will then receive the invoice by email.

Are invoices submitted directly to health insurance?

No, you can submit the invoice to your health insurer yourself if you have additional acupuncture insurance.

Are the treatments reimbursed?

Many health insurers (partially) reimburse acupuncture from the supplementary insurance. It is important to check this yourself with your own health insurer, so that you know exactly what will be reimbursed in your situation. https://www.zorgwijzer.nl/vergoeding/acupunctuur

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, that is not necessary. You can make an appointment directly.

How long does a treatment take?

An intake and first treatment take 60—90 minutes, follow-up sessions approximately 45 minutes.

Does Acupuncture hurt?

The needles used in acupuncture are wafer-thin and inserted gently. Everyone experiences this differently, but most people barely feel anything. Once the needles are in place, many clients experience deep relaxation and a sense of well-being that often lasts for hours after treatment.

What is the difference between body and ear acupuncture?

Body acupuncture uses points on the body to restore energy and blood flow. Ear acupuncture focuses on reflex zones in the ear; small needles or earseeds can be placed that stay in place for a few days.

What is fire cupping and when is it used?

Fire cupping is a traditional method where heated glass cups are placed on the skin. The mild negative pressure stimulates blood flow, reduces muscle tension and removes waste products. It is effective for stuck shoulders, back pain, stress and colds. Slight discolorations disappear on their own within a few days.

Are the treatments safe?

Yes, acupuncture is a safe treatment method when performed by a qualified and experienced therapist. ZenEra works with disposable sterile needles and according to the NVA's hygiene and quality guidelines.

How many treatments do I need?

After about three treatments, it is usually easy to assess whether acupuncture has an effect. You often notice a clear improvement in your symptoms and more rest and energy after the first or second session. The number of treatments varies from person to person and depends on the nature and duration of your complaint. In case of chronic or recurring complaints, monthly maintenance treatment can help maintain balance. For those who would like regular support, Zenera also offers a membership, which allows you to continue working on your well-being on a fixed basis.

Do you also offer massages?

Yes. The Deep Tissue Massage focuses on deeper muscle and connective tissue and helps with tension, stiffness or overload. Because of my background as a physiotherapist, I combine knowledge of the body with the relaxing effects of massage and acupuncture. The massage can be booked separately or combined with acupuncture.

Are the treatments safe during pregnancy and maternity?

Yes. Acupuncture, Moxa and gentle massage are used safely at every stage of pregnancy and after delivery. They can help with nausea, pelvic pain, breech position, recovery, breastfeeding problems and emotional balance.

What is the best thing to wear during a treatment?

Wear something you feel comfortable in. If it is necessary to take off certain items of clothing, this is always done in privacy and you are given the opportunity to cover yourself properly. Your comfort and relaxation come first during the treatment.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

In principle, you don't have to bring anything. If you have recent blood tests or other medical results that are relevant to your symptoms, you can bring them with you or share them beforehand.

What is MOXA therapy and does it help with a breech delivery?

Yes. Moxa is a warming therapy that uses the herb Ai Ye (mugwort) to stimulate specific points. In a breech position, Moxa can help the baby to turn naturally around weeks 33—35. The treatment is safe and is often combined with instruction so that you can continue at home.

What is your cancellation policy?

Appointments can be canceled or rescheduled free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. In case of cancellations within 48 hours or if you fail to show up for the appointment (no-show), the full treatment will be charged.

What does the intake include?

During the first consultation, we will discuss your health history, goals and lifestyle. In addition, your tongue and wrist are examined to get a good idea of your overall balance. An initial treatment will follow immediately and you will receive practical nutritional and lifestyle advice according to the principles of Chinese medicine.

Do you also use Chinese herbs?

Yes, when appropriate. The herbal pills contain carefully formulated mixtures that support recovery from, among other things, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, cycle problems or menopausal symptoms. They are only advised if they are safe in your situation.

What if I'm late?

Wanneer je te laat bent, proberen we zoveel mogelijk de geplande behandeling nog te laten doorgaan binnen de resterende tijd. De behandeltijd kan dan iets korter zijn, maar het volledige tarief blijft gelden.

Do you offer packages or programs?
